July 12th come celebrate Maggot Brain’s birthday and get funked up with legendary current and former musicians of Parliament Funkadelic Greg Boyer, Big Bennie, Benzel Baltimore, Michael Hampton and Tha Muthafunkaholx and Gabe Gonzalez’ Enema Squad, plus special guests and guests of honor. MUSICIANS: please bring your instrument for the Open Mic and Jam Session portion! BYOB and towel, etc for swimming. This is a private party at a private residence. No cover charge, but donations to help cover expenses are greatly appreciated. The Sowebo Arts and Music Festival kicks off the Summer festival season in Baltimore. It is always free and utterly unique. The festival takes place every year (except during pandemics), from noon to 8pm, on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend in the streets surrounding the historic Hollins Market The festival is produced and staffed by neighborhood volunteers. This event is all about bringing together local music, visual artists, and entertainers, great food, neighbors, and fun for all ages.
